Federico Cremasco is an alchemist , in constant dialogue with nature, a researcher who experiments with new combinations, renewing tastes. An herbalist who grows and cares for plants day after day.

Opificio Fred was born from Federico's passion for plants and nature. As a boy he loved walking in the woods of his land, collecting medicinal and botanical herbs to make homemade liqueurs together with his mother Vanda.

He begins by cultivating plants and spices in the meadows near his home, at the foot of the Friulian mountains, while at night he works as a barman in the bars.

Federico is passionate about an ancient herbarium from 1946 and experiments with extraction techniques to create essential oils, timeless fragrances.

In 2014 Federico opened his first laboratory in an old abandoned Pharmacy in the center of Polcenigo (Pn), one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, where time passes slowly. For the first time the collected plants become infusions and distillates.

Here begins the period of study and research in the world of spirits. He starts his botany project “Federico’s herbs”.

In 2020 Federico moved the laboratory to the new distillery, still in Polcenigo and in an enchanting location: immersed in the nature of the Friulian foothills and nestled on an island surrounded by the Gorgazzo river. It is here that he realized another dream: a botanical garden where you can touch with your own hands some of the plants that he grows and takes care of personally. Today the new Alkemil line comes to life: natural liqueurs, handcrafted, in limited quantities and with a herbaceous flavor that marry with the spirits of Opificio Fred and are suitable for mixing.
